A little bit about the author Mark Weakland: Author/educator/musician Mark Weakland enjoys being a slash. While pursing his bachelor's degree in the sciences and working with adjuticated youth, he played drums and percussion with scores of Pittsburgh-based bands. After years of eating mac-n-cheese and Ramen noodles, he went on to obtain multiple teacher certifications and a master's degree in education, study the educational system in Japan under the auspices of the Japanese Fulbright Memorial Fund, and pursue certification in the Wilson Language system.
